On To The Next One  (subject line)

Well if you couldn’t tell by my subject I have another change. I said on to the next one cause that jay z song popped to my head haha. Now I will change the subject and answer the questions you asked haha then I'll get back to changes...

How are you feeling about where you are living and the area you are working in?
I like Atlantida but the last 2 weeks I was in llano largo and I didn’t really like Llano Largo.

Are the members feeding you? Are the members helpful with finding people to teach?
Yes, members feed us every once and a while but nothing big normally some rice, beans, and tortillas… something simple

How big is the Primary in your ward?
In this ward the primary is about 10ish kids maybe...idk

What about soccer... are those cleats working out well?
soccer and the cleats are going good almost every week we play

Did you finish painting F-rn-nd- and D-lc-'s rooms?
Yeah we have finished the house

How is Ch-t- doing?
Good, he’s like a pro breakdancer and goes to contests and misses church every once and a while but he’s doing good.

How is Ang-- and her husband doing?
They are doing good, they just moved into their house together

Did you see some old friends in Palencia?
I saw one person in Palencia we just went to district meeting and left.

Ok back on track!.... so yeah I have a change.... it’s very bittersweet. I don’t want to leave here but at the same time I do, but whatever I’m on to go get to know somewhere else. It’s really annoying cause I was in Llano Largo for 2 weeks so I haven’t even been here (I’m back in Atlantida as of today) and now everybody is going to be like ohhh your back!! and I’m gunna be like nooo I’m here to say bye...eh lame but whatever...

So this week for teaching, I wasn’t in my area teaching my people so yeah… but it was a normal week nothing to special. Well there was one odd thing that happened that I can tell you haha. So we were teaching a lesson and the guy had his hand wrapped up like he had cut it really bad or something. Well a little later he tells us what happened... and this is more or less what he said happened...  he was walking home and a gangster asked him for his money and he said no I don’t have any. And then the gangster grabbed his hand and bit his finger off. So right now the guy is looking for a new finger to sew on and he said if there are any killings close by he might go try to get a finger off the dead guy… haha  so yeah that was pretty weird.

Well lets see what else...Elder Somers, my kid, has his first change and he’s leaving Peten. so I will see him at change conference which will be cool. Elder Rowan, my first comp, is going home. Elder Payne and Hopkins, my friends from when I was in Peten, are starting their last change. Today started my 11th change; there are 16 changes in the field in total.
Well you all are asking me if I have a change so I will end this so you can read it and then maybe talk a lil before I go. Have a good week love you all!

Oh and the pictures… one is me with dark knight pizza since you talked about dark knight. And the others are in central park in Guatemala, and one with Elder Pierce in central park with bird feed!

July 23, 2012

Hello. This week was alright. Tuesday we had zone conference and they talked about all the same stuff they have talked about since I started the mission, I didn’t really feel like it was anything new. With my investigators mainly we are still working with F-rn-nd- and D-lc- and its tough. F-rn-nd- is kinda just not trying and D-lc- is doing everything. So we will see what happens, their planned date is this coming Saturday.

I’m pretty excited because Wednesday I will be up in Palencia for the day and it will be cool to be in my first area.
Friday we had an activity in the church where we made food and watched the Joseph Smith movie on a projector. About 80 people showed up, it was an ok activity.
Also one day we helped re-paint one of the elders houses in Juana de Arco because the owners of the house were mad at how trashed the house was. So we all re-painted and cleaned the inside.
This is the last week of this change and alot of people are going home.
Today for p-day we went to central market, the place I went to when I was in the CCM. I was able to buy a lot of cool stuff. I’m trying to slowly get all my shopping done before the end of my mission so I don't have to do it all last minute. I bought you guys some small stuff but there is so much stuff there you guys would like but I figured I should just wait till we all come and you can get what ever you want. So for now you will have to settle for small stuff haha.
Also that reminds me that in the box I sent home a lil bit ago there was a notebook for you mom and a little bag for Morgan and also I think in the note book a few letters I had written and put in envelopes for some people of the stake that have written me, so if you could look for that stuff and get it out that would be nice. Well that's about all and I don’t have my card reader with me so I will end this letter and no photos this week! Hopefully next week I will be able to send some photos and I’ll let you guys know about changes! Love you all have a good week!

July 16, 2012

This week was less filled than last week and last week I had nothing to say. Not too much has happened, just normal missionary life and normal lessons. Our investigators are still progressing well and I should have a few baptisms this week or next, we haven’t been able to decide the date yet.
Also today I got the news that Osc-r and his wife got sealed. They are the ones from San Jose, and Elder Somers and I baptized Osc-r’s son Osc-r.
So that was some good news to hear that.

Elder Argueta, Elder Mansfield, Elder Asdel, Elder Lowe
I have some fotos from my 4th of July meal that I spent a whole 25 dollars on... I felt like a big spender hahaha because quetzales are about 7.8 to 1 with the dollar. So my meal was 200 quetzales and I normally spend 30 to 50 on lunch haha so 200 was going big! haha.
Elder Mansfield & Elder Asdel

We have an investigator coming to church that works for a family here but she doesn’t speak Spanish she speaks kek´chi. So I have no idea how we are going teach her... maybe I'll study some basics jaja. We will see where that goes. hmmmm... what else... what elseeee... I got nothing. Times flying and it's just normal! Hopefully I get some new stories for next week! Love you all and enjoy the fotos!!

vapor viii
This week was fast and was one of the off weeks of being busy; it was a mainly chill week. I got my new soccer shoes I got the vapor viiis with the bottoms for playing on concrete and grass, they were a super ugly orange but I painted them flat black today and they are dope now haha.

As for how the work is going here... We are really focused on D-lc- and F-rn-nd-. They were going to get baptized this coming Saturday but Ch-t- will be out of town, so we pushed it to the next Saturday.
We also have a lot of new references that we haven’t been able to contact yet but hopefully this week we will be able to and find some news! yeee.
Wednesday was 4th of July so a couple of us (Elder Argueta, Elder Mansfield and Elder Lowe) went to a steak house which was nice. I got a huge 16oz steak with salad and garlic bread, yum!!!!
I love having allllll the food in my area haha.
They don’t sell fireworks at this time of the year. Only fire crackers in rolls, and those go off all day and they aren’t very fun. So I just stuck with the steak and I'll celebrate extra at Christmas time for fourth of July.
This change is half way over and it’s flying just like always haha. I don’t really have much to say this week so I’m going end this now. I love you all have a great week!

July 2, 2012

Woooooo! It was a great week! I’ll try to break it down in order.

Elder Argueta and Elder Asdel
Last Monday was my comps b-day as you know but after internet we ordered pizza. That’s the pizza picture! He’s now 24, haha it’s kinda funny my last two comps, who have less time in the mission than me, are older than me.

Tuesday was super fun we painted Ch-t-’s sisters room. (Ch-t- is who got baptized a few weeks ago) We were there all day because it was a new add on to the house and the first few layers of paint didn’t stick to well. And tomorrow I’m pretty sure we will be painting his other sisters room...which is good cause I like painting hehehe.

Wednesday was normal we had district meeting and ate at burger king after. Thursday morning I went to the zone leaders area and worked in their area until Friday and one of the zone leaders came to my area to work with my comp. The pictures of all the stairs was that day, we went up like 300 stairs just to find out nobody was home haha o-well it was fun. I got a good picture up at the top with Elder Cheney and a member who came and worked with us.

Friday we put a baptismal date with F-rn-nd- y D-lc- (Ch-t-’s sisters) for the 15th of this month so we will be working with them alot to get them ready. Saturday was the big day, we had Ang--’s baptism in the morning and in the afternoon was the wedding, let me just say that it was great! No problems at all! I was in charge of taking videos and what not so I don’t have alot of fotos but I have some good ones enjoy. Sunday at night we were invited to an activity for future missionaries and I got to share all my fotos, which was super fun. Well that wraps up the week! Love you all have a great week!

June 25, 2012

Today is my comps bday so happy birthday to him haha. This week was good. My comp turned 24 today and I was thinking about paying for his dinner or something tonight because we have all the good food here. He got 2 packages from his family so don’t worry about any of that.
Saturday we didn’t have a baptism, but a kid in the ward turned 8 that day and also had his baptism and we were there for that.
We’ve now had the interview for Ang--’s baptism and she’s all ready. Now we just have to see how it plays out Saturday at the wedding/baptism. Its looking like it’s going to be really good! I’m super excited!
Also right now we are working with D-lc- and F-rn-nd- (Ch-t-s sisters) and its been good. The dad is a really nice guy too but the mom is less active. So hopefully we can win them all over soon.
Also Wednesday they asked us to paint the inside of their house so that should be fun. I haven’t been able to do service for a while so I am excited! yeee.
Lets see what else.... I have no idea what else is going on. That’s about all of our happenings at the moment so I will now end this. Love you all and have a great week!

Elder Asdel & Elder Argueta with Ch-t- and his family
Well it was a good week! It was a slow week because that’s how the last week of the change always is. But we had a baptism Saturday which was great. Ch-t- is who got baptized. He is 20 just a lil bit younger than me, and it was really cool cause his parents came out to the baptism and also his sister who we are working with right now. They also came to church on Sunday.
My comp won the coin toss of who gets to do the baptism and I lost haha oh- well.
Sunday we have a lesson with Ang-- and she is now ready for her baptism and wedding on the 30th, which should be a fun day.
My comp and I don’t have changes so we will both be able to be there! yay!
Ch-t- and Elder Asdel

Well I don’t have much to say but I do have pictures... and a picture is worth a 1000 words right? hihihiihihi well I do have some pictures in my new suit. It's a shiny brown. I don’t know if you’ll be able to tell in the pictures. Next I have a picture with Elder Gunnell when we completed 14 months with 10 months left we are holding out on our hands which is also the way to *tell people off in Guatemala haha. Then the pictures of the baptism ennnnnjoy!!! Love you all
